2 Welcome to my re-designed blog!! :)

I've always wanted a spot where I could share my creativity and this is my home now! :) I'll be sharing crafting ideas, projects I make/build and anything else that I want to share!! So jump along for the ride!! :)

The first project I wanted to share with you is these amazingly easy bookshelves I made for my kids' books. For $35 I got enough wood for four 4 ft. shelves, spray paint and drywall screws and anchors. Super easy and super cheap!!

Like I said, these were super simple to make. I was able to put them together within about 20 min. I got the idea here from Ana White (the amazing wood worker!!) She calls for one long 8 foot shelf, but I ended up buying enough to cut them all in half to make 4, 4 ft. shelves. I didn't feel like dealing with the saw at home today, or trying to get a bunch of 8 ft. wood into my van...so I just had Home Depot cut all my wood in half and it made it so much easier. The hardest part of the project was getting all the drywall anchors up and in the right place for the shelves to be level. If I would have had a long level, it would have made the project even easier. I hung up the shelves in the hallway in between the kids' rooms and they fit perfectly!! They love having their books displayed and I love it too!!
