2 Wooden Benches

Our kitchen chairs that we bought along with our table have been slowly falling apart. I've wanted benches at our table for years also...so Ray and I decided that for our anniversary we would make some wooden benches together. We love building stuff together and this was probably our easiest project! I was inspired by this design here, although we used 5 pieces total for 2 benches instead of 4. It only took us about 1 1/2 hours to cut and assemble them and then the next morning I sanded them down and stained them. The stain turned out beautiful of them...I just love how they turned out. And they've already come in handy...with being able to seat 10 little girl's for Bryleigh's birthday party. :) Can't wait to make a matching table and end chairs!

Hey, I actually got into the bees on flickr through Emilie's blog! She posted back in the fall about the Stitch 6 Bee that she was starting so I signed up! Ive been reading her blog for about a year now and find it very neat to be connected with her in a bee now. And since then I have joined 3 other quilting bees and have loved it!! You should really join up! I was even thinking about starting my own bee up.. maybe we could do it together... ;) Ill let you get acquainted with it first to see if its what you like. :) If you check out this link: http://www.flickr.com/groups/quiltingbeeblocks/ it has a discussion that lists the current bees that are starting up. Thats how I found my other ones. :)
