I have been on a major crafting hiatus for a long time now...I don't know why, but I just haven't felt like doing much of anything (craft wise). But today I got the itch...I've been contemplating a flower box on one of our front windows for awhile now and I finally got it done today. I picked up 3 cedar fence posts at $1.87 each at Home Depot. I measured the window, which was 61" and cut my three boards at that length. I had just enough to cut the two ends...nailed them all together, painted them my favorite blue (Painters Touch Teal from Home Depot), drilled holes in the bottom for drainage, added the brackets and hung them on the house. I love how they turned out...colorful flowers make me happy!
While I had my spray paint out, I did another project I've had on my to-do list! I have seen those spray painted rugs all over Pinterest and I have wanted to do one...so while I was at Home Depot the other night picking up my other stuff, I picked up a plain brown mat for outside. I spray painted it all white first. It took about 3 coats. Then I took regular 'ole duct tape and laid lines down on the mat. I spray painted the other areas in my favorite blue, it only took one coat...and now I have a beautiful mat for my front door! :)
