When deciding what color to paint my daughter's room I knew I wanted something light. When I read Dana's blog...I knew I wanted a light blue of some sort. I got a sample from Valspar and it was a little too light...it just looked white to me. So I went over to Lowe's and picked out a new color...I chose the middle one, Fountain Mist.

So the painting began. Since we were painting over a light pink, I didn't bother priming and I'm glad I didn't. We also didn't bother taping...because we found the coolest gadget ever, the edger. Yeah, I've painted many a room in my day...but I finally decided to use it and I'm wondering whey I was so scared of it before! It was amazing and so fast!!

I wanted to add something a little extra to the walls...and since I have a brand new Silhouette, I broke it in and made a fun scalloped border. It was inspired by this room, although her's in contact paper and mine is vinyl.
I cut it all out of my vinyl, two scallops per sheet at 25" long. I wanted to put them up in small sections so it would be easier to handle. I thought I would need my hubby's help hanging it all, but since they were in such short pieces, I was able to put them up myself.

I just love how it turned out...and my daughter loves it, which is the most important!
