1 Back to School feast!

Tonight we had our first annual Back to School feast!! I got the idea from my friend Allie and this blog. Here's our set up outside...


We had pretty sunflowers on the table...we've got one sunflower bush growing in our garden, so I just cut some off! :)


We had fun place settings...with pictures of my husband and I when we were kids. We also had little school lunch trays and apples with sayings on them.




I made the kids crowns to wear. I cut up words that describe them and words that I want them to remember as they go to school. They loved them!

The kids requested Chicken Rolls for dinner, and we had lime chili rubbed corn on the cob and macaroni salad. We had chocolate milk (I tried to find the ones in cartons like at school, but no store had them) and yummy cupcakes.

I took a new white sheet and that was my table cloth. I had an old sheet with numbers and letters on it, so I sewed that in half and made a table runner. I added pencils in jars and some of my owls that I had around the house.


We all had so much fun and I think the kids felt super special. We've got a new family tradition!!
