Gosh guys...I can't tell you or explain to you how excited I am for Project Life. I had so much fun putting my first week together, I can't even tell you! I'm going on my 5th year of p365...and I've never gotten my books printed! So I'm just so excited to know that I'm working on my album as we go through the year and it will be complete when the year is! It's so exciting!
So let me tell you a little about my process in getting this week ready for Project Life. I knew this week was going to be one full of pictures...my husband and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary and our daughter turned 7 and had her birthday party...all this week! I haven't come up with a super great system yet (I'm sure that will come as the weeks go on)...but this week I decided to just jot down everything on paper to get an idea of where I would put everything. Here's my sketch:
I wrote down what pictures I had and wanted to use and then I wrote down some of the extra inserts I could put in. I didn't end up putting in my daughters birthday cards because she won't let go of them. :) Maybe as the weeks pass she'll let me put them in!
Then I just sketched out where I wanted what...I looked through my stash as I went so I could get an idea of what papers and extras to use. Hopefully my process will improve, but for now...this works.
Here's a picture of the whole week spread, when you open up the binder. You can see the two page spread with the extra little inserts in the middle...
Here's a picture of the 2 page spread without the inserts...
Here's a close-up of the first page...
..and the second page, which is mostly about my daughters birthday and her party...
The middle inserts are first, a 5x7 with my One Little Word...and on the back is why I chose it.
The next extra insert is a 6x12 cut into 3 different 4x6's...they were perfect for my kids' 2012 goals and favorites.
On the back of that is a birthday interview I did with my daughter. I designed it as a 6x12, then cut it into three to fit into the protector.
At the start of each week will be one of these cards that I designed. It will have the highlights of our week written on it. They'll be in my shoppe at the end of the week! :)
One of the pictures we took outside this week...I drew a border and the words "love you" in Illustrator and printed it directly on the picture. Love the little detail it adds!
This is probably one of my very favorite cards. It was definitely my least favorite picture of the week, but putting a frame around it and printing words directly over the photo makes it pop in my album now! :)
The other side is about my daughter's birthday. She got to go to another friends party and got that cute little magenta extension in her hair. For her birthday she received a new piano book and Scentsy stuff and that's where the quote originated from. :) Also included is the birthday invitation she sent to her friends.
At the bottom of that page, I added a little quote by Dr. Suess...it's the quote her party was based on. :)
I'm already excited to start on next week...how about you? :)
