2 project life | week 8 - 2013

And here we are...onto week 8!! This week came together quite easily, even with a lack of photos!

Here's the left side:

Miles wrote his name all by himself for the first time this week, I'm so proud of him!!

I began training again for a 5k...I've only got until May 18th to get it in gear. But thanks to my doTerra Essential Oils and TurboFire, I exercised every day this week (except Sunday) and I'm down almost 9 pounds!

The next little card is a photo taken as a screenshot from a video I took of Miles this week. He learned about presidents in preschool on Tuesday and this little video is so funny!

Bryleigh is constantly changing her room around...I'm afraid she got that from her mother. :) She's always changing up the living arrangements for her two dolls. This is how it looked this week. I should do a monthly shot of her room to see how it changes. :) By the way...this picture is what inspired the color scheme for this week. At first I wasn't sure I wanted to use the picture because the colors just didn't fit my usual style and it didn't look great as a B/W photo. But after playing around with the other colors in the layouts, I'm so happy I kept it in and let it inspire me for the rest of the pages!

This yellow card is a sneak of my BYOC stuff coming to my shoppe on Friday! :)

And onto the right side...

I love this photo of the boys stuck at the table eating dinner...I decided to include some of the hashtags I used when I instagrammed it. :)

The second card was a moment I wanted to remember, but didn't have a picture for. So I decided to use my signature circle and create some text. The font I used for all my cards this week (and many cards from past weeks) is called Bebas Neue...definitely my favorite font right now.

Loved this photo of the boys with their kissy lips, and Bryleigh with her dolls. :)

I had an extra pocket, so I printed off another card that's in my BYOC pack this Friday and attached a stencil to it by sewing right onto the card. :)

Along with it is two photos of the boys playing super good together this week!

Had to add a funny quote in from Miles this week...he learned about keeping his teeth clean in preschool this week too. He's such a funny kid!

Don't you love that card on the bottom too? It fit so well in my color scheme I just couldn't resist. It was given to me though, so I don't know where it came from. Sorry!

I've had some questions on how I process my photos. Really I haven't thought that much about it 'cause I do the same exact thing every time! As for my B/W images, I answered that question in my last post, so go check it out there.

As for color images, I open them up in Bridge before I even get to photoshop and I color correct, boost the light and sometimes boost the contrast there. Then I open it up into Photoshop. I almost always use a Paint the Moon action called "Wonder Quickie". It was a facebook fan freebie (I think) from like 2 years ago, so I don't know if it's still available anymore. But I run that and that's pretty much it. As for what's in the action, it boosts the color, contrast, lighting and sharpening. I don't put much thought into it since the action basically does it for me and it's almost always spot on. My4Hens has some amazing color boosting and popping actions that I've tried too. Basically I don't do anything special except making it look bright enough and colorful enough for my eye!

Hope you had a great week! Now onto week 9!
